Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa) Dried Leaf

The Hopi smoked the resin (or sap) obtained from the Wild Lettuce (Lactuca virosa) plant. The flower would be cut off and the sap that ran from the stem then would be collected. Each day, for a few weeks, another tiny bit was cut from the stem and more sap collected. This sap was then air-dried and later smoked in rituals that were intended to help induce vivid dream states and lucid dreaming. The Hopi believe that induced dream states contain more information about reality than the conscious waking state, and I can't say that any of here disagree, especially with the state of affairs in the world these days.

I have not actually ordered wild lettuce from this site, though I have many other products, but I did pick some actually wild lettuce from my friend's back yard. I dried the leaves in the oven at 150 degrees for about an hour or so. The feeling is slightly heavy eyes, a little zoned out and relaxed. I smoked several bowls of it to get the desired effects but it's not half bad. The resin is supposed to be more potent though, so I might try the extraction method later. If you're thinking about trying it I would recommend you do.

I really enjoy this plant, for it does bring about incredibly vivid dreams if one is not blazing or drinking. It is great to smoke or to drink. A great relaxer as well.
