The Chinese have long considered this a superior sexual tonic, as it is well-known to relieve sexual fatigue, sensitize women's sexual experience, and increase the staying power of men. Continued use is said to purify the blood, build stamina, and brighten the mind.
Traditionally, the berries were soaked in water for several hours prior to use to remove tannins. A famous traditional Chinese preparation soaks them in wine after the water, and the berries are enjoyed with the wine. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
