Aromatherapy Properties: A pale yellow mobile liquid with a fresh, warm-spicy, herbaceous, somewhat camphoraceous odor. It blends well with hyssop, lavender, rosemary, rosewood, lemon and other citrus oils. This common sage oil from Salvia officinalis is preferred in perfumery over traditional Spanish sage because it is widely regarded as having a more refined fragrance.
Spiritual Uses: Sage has a long history of use for in purification rituals meant to clear negative or stagnant energies from a space prior to engaging in spiritual work. During medieval times, Sage had one of the loftiest reputations of any plant: it was thought to cure virtually all ailments, as well as to protect from the plague. Today, Sage is widely used in various types of cuisine. It is also being investigated as a treatment for Alzheimer’s patients.
