Liquid Extract - Guarana

This Guarana Liquid Extract Tincture (1oz) is famous as a nerving tonic and sometimes used as an aphrodisiac febrifuge. Natives take guarana (Paullinia cupana) daily as an energizer in much the same way Westerners enjoy coffee. A beverage is made from guarana sticks by grating half a tablespoonful into sugar and water and drinking it like tea, but we've done the work for you in this concentrated 5x liquid extract.

The Brazilian miners drink this constantly and believe it to be a preventive of many diseases, as well as a most refreshing beverage. Their habit in traveling is to carry the stick or a lump of it in their pockets, with a palate bone or scale of a large fish with which to grate it. P. Cupana is also a favorite national diet drink; the seeds are mixed with Cassava and water, and left to ferment until almost putrid, and in this state it is the favorite drink of the Orinoco Indians.

Our Pure Liquid Extract Tinctures offer many advantages over dried herbs, which include ease of use and superior potency, especially when they are crafted with a single herb such as this.  Also, your herbs are pre-extracted in a lab that specializes in full spectrum herbal extraction, insuring consistent quality and potency, batch after batch.  We offer this liquid extract/tincture it in a convenient 1 ounce bottle at a 5x potency.

Essential Oil - Lavender
Botanical name: Lavandula angustifolia
Color: Clear/very pale amber
Consistency: Thin
Perfumery note: Top/middle. Also useful as a fixative.
Related Planets/Deities: Mercury/Aradia/Hecate
Aroma: Strong, soothing floral odor, prominent floral notes, slight woody undertone
Energetic Properties: Uplifting, calming, clarifying, bonding, divining.

Aromatherapy Properties: Our lavender oil is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a sweet, floral-herbaceous odor and a balsamic-woody undertone. The oil is used as a fixative in perfumery, since it blends well with most essential oils. Lavender is literally the most popular scent in the world, but not all lavenders are created equally. Our French lavender is the one lavender in the whole world that we have selected to offer. Its scent is amazingly clear and uplifting, with a soothing purity that is unsurpassed.

Our lavender was selected by Natural Health Magazine as their lavender of choice (Feb. 2009).

Spiritual Uses: Lavender’s ability to uplift the spirit is legendary. Due to this ability, lavender developed a long history of use in magickal divination and the acquisition of magickal skills, as well as of general wisdom. Lavender is traditionally associated with love, and is thought to help attract a mate (particularly men).

Blends well with: Almost any essential oil, thanks to its binding and neutral qualities. Lavender mixes particularly well with citrus oils, as well as with Cedarwood, Chamomile, Clary Sage, and Geranium.

History: In the tomb of Tutankhamen, jars containing fragrances similar to Lavender were found. In ancient Greece, Lavender was called “nardus,” or “nard”, from the Syrian city of Naarda where lavender was grown for Mediterranean trade. Lavender was one of the herbs used in purification of the First Temple of Jerusalem, and Nard is also mentioned in the Song of Solomon. In the Roman Empire, too, Lavender was extremely valuable. It fell out of common use during the Middle Ages, and was used and grown only in monasteries and convents. Lavender experienced a revival in Tudor England, and Queen Elizabeth was very fond of it. King Charles VI, of France had the cushions of his seats stuffed with Lavender. Aromatherapy itself was born when, while working in the lab, French chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé burned his hand and then used Lavender oil to effectively treat the burn.

Perfect for use with our Ceramic Oil Burners as well. These oils are sold for aromatherapy purposes only.

Method of Extraction: Cold pressed, furocoumarin-free

It blends well with lavender, orange blossom, jasmine, cypress, geranium, lemon, chamomile, juniper, coriander, and violet leaf. Smelling pure bergamot oil is one of the great joys of aromatherapy. Its scent is so fresh, and clear, and elevating.

Blends well with: Citrus Essential Oils blend well with a lot of different oils, “lifting” a blend to make it appear more energetic and lively. Neroli, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Geranium, Palmarosa and many others.

How to use it: Use a few drops in a diffuser to freshen the aroma climate of your home.

Sniff directly from the bottle to feel fresh and fight melancholy.

Citrus Essential Oils are among the few Essential Oils with a limited shelf life. Keep your citrus oils away from heat and direct sunlight and in tightly closed containers. Your fridge would be great. Try using them in 6 months after purchase. Older oils may not be appropriate for medicinal or skincare purposes, but can still add citrus-power to a diffuser blend.

History: When peeling a citrus fruit, you may experience the Essential Oil freely spraying from the peel when applying pressure. Squirting the Essential Oil into a candle flame is a nice winter activity that fascinates children (and those who remained young).

In the factory, before the juice of citrus fruits is processed, the peel of the fruits is carefully removed and the Essential Oil extracted from the glands contained in the outer layer of the peel. This is the process behind the term “cold pressed”.

This light, fruity citrus oil is uplifting, antiseptic, and relaxing. Relaxes and refreshes and is good for confidence building. Uplifts the spirit and emotions with its fresh and invigorating citrus fragrance. Useful for caring for oily and blemished skin. Lovely light citrus aroma. Use in vaporizer to eliminate unpleasant odors. It is familiar to many as the flavoring in Earl Grey Tea.

These oils are sold for aromatherapy purposes only.
