Damiana (Turnera diffusa)
|
Damiana is obtained from the shrub Turnera diffusa, which is native to the U.S. Southwest and northern Mexico. It has been clinically-proven to have a direct stimulating effect on the sexual organs, and ancedotal evidence shows that it can be made even more powerful when combined in equal parts with Saw Palmetto berries.
Some users of the combination tea (Damiana and Saw Palmetto) report that, taken an hour or so before sexual activity, it helps produce a more satisfactory experience. The best results seem to be obtained when Damiana is taken in moderation over a period of time, as is the case with many natural herbal supplements and remedies. If you make the above blend into a tea, and drink it consistently for 1-2 weeks, and then supplement with a tea drink 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity, it seems to have to most potent and noticeable effect.
A favorite DAMIANA RECIPE we found on the internet is a delightfully strong tasting cordial:
To craft it, simply soak 1oz of Damiana Flowers & Tops, 2 tablespoons of Saw Palmetto berries, 2 tablespoons of Angelica root and a l/2 tablespoon of vanilla pods in 750 ml. of Vodka. Shake the mixture every day for a week. After a week of this, strain the mixture through a muslin bag or coffee filter, saving the liquid.
Simultaneously, soak 1oz of Damiana Flowers & Tops, 2 tablespoons of Saw Palmetto berries, 2 tablespoons of Angelica root and a l/2 tablespoon of vanilla pods in 750 ml. of Distilled Water. Shake the mixture every day for a week. After a week of this, strain the mixture through a muslin bag or coffee filter, saving the liquid.
From the water extraction, heat it up but do not boil it. Once it reaches a nice hot (but not boiling!) temperature, dissolve one cup of honey into the hot liquid. After the honey has dissolved, remove from the heat, allow to cool somewhat and then add it to the first (Vodka) mixture.
Now comes the difficult part: Allow this mixture to "age" for 1 month!
After that, take 1oz of liqueur each day for a week, and see what happens. Herbs usually work in a gentle fashion so don't expect instantaneous results. Indeed, because of their different metabolism, some people may not experience any effects whatever, while others may find the results too potent. Use these herbs in a respectful manner and use them in moderation, over-indulgence or extended use may have harmful side-effects.
