Banisteriopsis caapi and this liquid extract is completely legal to possess worldwide except Canada, France, and Australia. There are two major alkaloids in B. caapi; harmine and tetrahydroharmine. Both are MAO inhibitors, and Harmaline is quite a strong whereas tetrahydroharmine is much milder. The alkaloid content of B. caapi can very widely from plant to plant, year to year, and even harvest to harvest. Caapi vines typically have just 0.5% percent alkaloid content (1g of alkaloids per 200g of dried vine), but that number varies greatly. Because of this, we sustainably harvest the same plants from the same location year after year to ensure as even and reliable an alkaloid content as possible. Our 10x liquid extract tincture contains about 0.5 grams of alkaloid content per fluid ounce and 5ml is a standard measure for this interesting extract.
