This root was a favorite of Native American tribes and had many uses, including fighting pain and fatigue. The Cree say that they can take Acorus Calamus root and "travel great distances without touching the ground."

It's even mentioned in the Bible in Exodus 30 and Solomon 4. A 2" section of the root reportedly had a stimulating effect, wheras a 6" section supposedly produced a visionary experience. Calamus has a certain sweetness as well as a sour quality and a heat like ginger or cinnamon.

I can't believe how lame this stuff has turned out to be, or how positive the only other review is. I've tried it six times now. I do not feel physically or mentally stimulated in the least after taking it, and considering plenty of other herbal stimulants (mostly purchased from SG too) work fine for me, it's not just that I have a specific condition or something. The taste is weird and unpleasant, which turns unbearable later because I keep getting aftertastes of it, along with a stomach ache. Not only do I not feel at ALL energized, I've actually felt more tired than usual the past few days (which is when I've been taking it) despite changing nothing else about my sleep, eating, or other habits.

I can't believe I'm the first to post on this product. I first ordered it a year ago. I never took so much as to have the "visionary experience" but i used to take them during work when my muscles started feeling achy and again when i got home. This really is a wonder of nature in my opinion. Good bye fatigue. Hello productivity. by the way, there isn't even a jittery caffeine/ephedrine feeling either. Truly amazing.
