Seeds from the Kratom Tree are only viable for a short amount of time, so it is EXTREMELY difficult to have seeds shipped to us and then to you in enough time to ensure viability. Whenever we have these in stock, we offer them immediately until the seeds sell out or have been sitting there for 30 days. The moment day 30 arrives, these Kratom seeds are planted in our in house planters in the hopes that even just one will sprout. But none have as of yet. WE hope that one day, if one of these seeds sprout, we may be able to create a new strain of Kratom plants that produce seeds that remain viable for at least 30 days. Typically, Kratom seeds are one of the least viable seeds known; peak viability lasts only a few days, and after that, germination rates drop quickly and significantly, but we will continue this experiment until we are successful!
But once this plant is growing, you can grow this hardy, fast growing tree almost anywhere. Kratom seeds are extremely difficult to come by because the tiny pods explode, and the sliver-size seeds disperse into the air. But, we have a careful grower who harvests the Kratom seed pods just as they break open and release the seeds. Due to the extremely small size of these seeds, though, packets are sold by weight, and not by number. But, a 10mg packet contains approximately 150-200 seeds. These seeds are mixed red vein and white vein Kratom, and viability is at about 5% for these beautiful plants. Kratom seeds will germinate in almost any cool to hot environment, but these are one of most difficult seeds to sprout and viability is so low, it often takes an entire packet to get a single plant.
But, you only need one...this is why we offer Kratom Plants for sale. PLEASE order them separately from anything else, as a trusted dropshipper sends your plants to you.
In short, soil needs to be any standard potting soil...you don't want sandy soil like cactus like to grow in; this is a tree, and a fast-growing one at that! Temperatures need to be as moderate as possible; you can't subject your Kratom tree to ANY freezing temperatures whatsoever! It likes a constant temperature of about 75 degrees to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and does extremely well in natural sunlight. If you live in a place that has cold winters, you will notice a marked increase in leaf production if you bring your Kratom tree outside for the summer.
You can find a wealth of information on Kratom at The Kratom Shop (they don't actually sell Kratom!) or at Entheology.org. Both places are a rich resource of exotic botanicals, and Entheology.org specializes in both plants, people, and news article related to ethnobotanicals and entheogens, so give them a visit! |
