Typha capensis has traditionally been used as a libido-enhancing decoction. It is a perennial marsh herb which which grows abundantly throughout the wetlands of South Africa. The genus name Typha is from the Greek typhos, meaning marsh. The species name capensis is given for the Cape where it occurs in abundance. We also offer Silene capensis rhizome - a dreaming herb grown in South Africa.
Typha capensis, also known as Bulrush or Love Reed, is associated with increased male libido and performance as it may improve circulation. Our Bulrush is fine cut dried rhizome, 1 tablespoon of which may be boiled in 1-2 cups of water for a few minutes. This preparation is made daily for a week.
