Celtic tribes revered oaks and utilized oakmoss in a variety of ways. Wool and linen were dyed with oakmoss and lichen; oakmoss healing ointments and poultices possessed antiseptic qualities -- and oakmoss blended with fragrant herbs was burned as ceremonial incense. Oakmoss is considered sacred to the deities of the wildwood.
Traditions Vetiver, Oakmoss and Sandalwood represent three distinct yet historically connected regions.
