These untreated seeds are imported directly from Ghana. Not nearly as high quality as our organic Hawaiian seeds, but we still guarantee about a 20% germination rate. These are indeed A. nervosa seeds, but are a different strain and don't have the fuzzy coating associated with seeds from Hawaii. Sold by weight, not by quantity...numbers may vary. Properly cultivated this plant would still make an interesting addition to any garden, though, and because these seeds are so inexpensive, you can spread a large amount over a wide area.

This particular strain of HBWR contains little to no poisonous alkaloids, but these seeds have been used safely and medicinally as a nervine tonic in Ayurveda for countless years. HBWR seeds originated in India, where they are still used in Ayurvedic medicine today as a nervine tonic. This is the strain that is used for those purposes, and they are slightly larger and more oblong than any other Woodrose seeds we offer. Properly cultivated this plant would make a beautiful addition to any garden.

Seeds of the Argyreia nervosa may have once been used in sacramental rituals in the Pacific Islands by high priests, but research is quite spotty. But, it's the beautiful plant that comes from these seeds that's the truly magnificent thing about Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds, and especially this prized Hawaiian strain hand-picked from farmland specifically set aside in Hawaii to grow these seeds.
