Amanita muscaria Mushroom Shop
We pride ourselves on the quality and variety of Amanita muscaria mushroom caps, powder and 10x resin extract we have to offer. Our pickers are passionate about what they do and shade-dry every specimen we carry to ensure the best preservation of these exotic botanical specimens inside and out. Since we've been doing this for so many years, we offer freshly rotated Amanita crops every single season, unlike competitors who mix their stock from year to year, reducing the quality of the Amanita muscaria specimens dramatically.
We could fill volumes on Amanita muscaria caps; although they are listed as poisons by the FDA, no other botanical has a richer place in history, religion, Shamanic tradition, or folklore. Amanitas may even be the world's oldest entheogen.

Soma is known to most readers as the stimulant, euphorant and hallucinogen in Aldous Huxley's novel Brave New World. Few people know that the plant Soma actually exists and has been used as a key component of religious and Shamanic ritual since the time of India's earliest civilizations. Even fewer know that flying reindeer, Christmas, and Santa Claus are deeply-rooted in the Siberian Mushroom Cults who first saw reindeer digging in the snow, purposely seeking out this magical fungus.
Many have tried to positively identify this mushroom's place in history as the famed "Soma", a plant or mixture of plants whose consumption produced a kind of ecstatic mental state, but there are thousands of psychoactive plants with reported psychedelic, intoxicant, narcotic or deliriant effects, so finding solid proof that Amanita muscaria is this divine plant has been virtually impossible. Theories have been discussed in depth by Clark Heinrich in his book " Magic Mushrooms in Religion and Alchemy" and " Soma" by David Spess, and various ethnobotanists, such as R. Gordon Wasson, have visited every far corner of the world they could to find solid evidence of what Amanita muscaria's true place in history is.
The Rig Veda indicates that this "Soma" was found on mountain-sides, gathered by moonlight, and was consumed in the form of a liquid which was expressed from the plant and then mixed with milk and/or butter. Frequently, in post-Vedic literature the soma-liquid is known as amrita. This is especially so in Buddhist writings where the name soma is virtually unknown. The moon was thought to be the receptacle of soma from which it is consumed (presumably over a monthly period) by the gods and ancestors.
For centuries, the identity of the soma plant held little interest for Sanskrit scholars. Even those who chose to mention it, brushed it off and suggested that Soma was simply a metaphor, and that a non-psychoactive plant such as rhubarb was the true identity of Soma. But, as spiritual explorers and researchers continue to uncover the widespread and often-hidden use of psychoactive drugs in the spiritual practices of traditional cultures, the true identity of Soma has ignited much debate and has sent some psychonauts and adventurers on quests around the world for this "Holy Grail" of the entheogen world.
Gordon Wasson's theory as to why Soma's identity was lost to history is because of migration. Amanita muscaria can only grow in a symbiotic relationship with Birch or Pine trees, so as the Aryans migrated south into the Indus Valley, they left behind the prime habitats for Amanita muscaria as well. And the debate goes on.

Wildcrafted and organically grown African strain Grade "A" Amanita muscaria. History has it associated with both Shamanic and magical practices and it was identified as the "Soma" of the ancient (4000 BC) Rig Veda by Gordon Wasson. Strangely enough, amanitas grow all over the world, just like Cannabis Sativa, and this particular strain is from a natural field of them growing in Africa. We've been sourcing these for years, mostly becuase of the repeat customers who demand this particular strain. They are not the prettiest Amanitas we carry, but they have a devoted following.

These are the oft-coveted Siberian strain Grade "A" Amanita muscaria mushrooms, partly due to their place in folklore and history. Yes, there are many historical records of Siberian Amanita Cults, a few of which still exist today, and we get these authntic specimens from one of those still-practicing Siberian cults. One of the reasons these particular people have a distinct place in history is becuase of the WAY in which these Siberian Shaman practiced their Amanita rituals: Since the active components of Amanita muscaria mushroom are transformed within the human body (they contain ibotenic acid which, when the carboxyl radical is removed from the molecule, yields the psychoactive molecule muscimole), the urine of one who has consumed the mushroom is drunk by another who would consequently becomes inebriated...eek. - Click the image or the link below for the full story...

Wildcrafted and organically grown Latvian strain Grade A+ Amanita muscaria mushrooms. Our Latvian Amanitas are our most popular strain, and as an added service to our customers, we offer this "A+" grade in our continuing efforts to offer as wide a variety of botanicals as possible. No other curious red-spotted fungus has enjoyed such a deeply mysterious history, which reaches, quite literally, mythological proportions. There are references to this fungus in Christmas stories, in the Rig Veda, and some argue; in early Christianity. Amanita myths abound, and this particular strain is straight from one of the original sources for early Amanita muscaria Shamanic use.
One fact no one can argue, is that these mushrooms are associated with both Shamanic and magical practices and they could very well be the world's oldest entheogen. They grow all over the world, and have been positively identified as being used by various religious cults, including ones in Siberia, Africa, and the United States, where these mushrooms can easily be found.

These yellowish forms are difficult to distinguish from A. gemmata; one of the most common causes of mushroom poisoning in the Pacific Northwest. But these certified Amanita pantherina specimens come from a religious sect in Siberia that still uses these caps listed as poisons in their rituals to this day. Pantherinas have much more concentrated active components in them, but are strictly not for human consumption.

These hand made mushroom art pieces are available in extremely limited quantities. Crafted out of wood and a high pressure water-based system, the shape of the wood can be twisted into forms that look just like magical mushrooms. They stand about 6" - 8" tall, and the photos, as hard as we try, doesn't do them a bit of justice.
These are made by a small community in Peru, and it's one of the ways it keeps them on their land, producing amazing botanicals such as B. Caapi, Maca, and other plants that we adore so much here at the shop. Click here for more info...
