Wild Dagga Leaf, Resin, & Tinctures Wild Dagga perhaps is one of the least understood, but most popular of the smoking products we offer. The name "dagga" got its name because of how it is used in Africa, the plant's native home.
Wild Dagga is used in a wide range of smoking blends. We then have Wild Dagga in a concentrated form which we offer as an exotic botanical incense that can be burned for its own pleasant scent, or smoked. Please note that smoking of any kind, even natural herbal products, is dangerous to ones health.

CRITICAL POINTS REGARDING WILD DAGGA VARIETIES:
There is a VAST difference in the strength of Wild Dagga varieties, in both the leaves and especially the flowers. Our shop prides itself on not only having the best Wild Dagga found anywhere, but we also have varieties found at no other shop, even though others claim to have the same thing. One of those varieties is our Alpine Freeze Dried Klip Dagga, grown in scientifically-controlled conditions, and freeze dried on the farm just after it's harvested, to keep its strength as high as the day it was harvested. And another are our TWO strains of Wild Dagga Flowers. Both Lion's Tail and Lion's Ear (Klip Dagga) produce flowers. But, the critical difference between the two is in the appearance of the flowers. For the milder variety (Lion's Tail), the flowers simply sprout from the plant itself. But for the stronger variety called Lion's Ear or Klip Dagga, the flowers sprout from prickly pods. And these pods only produce a FEW flowers per pod. See the below images for a reference: Leonotus lenourus flowers (above) - NO PODS!
Leonotis nepetifolia flowers (above) - ONE BIG POD!Note that the Leonotis nepetifolia flowers sprout from a large pod. What other vendors offer as "Wild Dagga Flowers" are really the weaker strain of flowers as seen in the first image. They are the ones that sprout quite plentifully and directly from the plant.
In fact, if you can find research on both of these plants (most vendors DON'T want to point out the difference because the cost difference is quite different as well), you will see that the Lion's Ear produced a FAR SMOOTHER smoke than the Lion's Tail. And this is exactly why we offer both, just as we offer multiple strains of products such as HBWR, Wormwood, and Calamus . . . to educate you, our treasured customer, so you can be confident with anything and everything you purchase from us. If you go to Wikipedia on Leonotis nepetifolia, you wil see this quote; "L. nepetifolia (klip dagga) is related to L. leonurus (wild dagga or lion's tail.) The most noticeable difference between the two is the leaf shape. Leaves are *cordate* with serrated edges on L. nepetifolia, except the top pair which is lanceolate with serrated edges as pictured in taxonomy box. The leaves are all lanceolate with serrated edges on L. leonurus.”
The Klip Dagga is part of a growing line of products we carry called our "Private Reserve" products that are grown, with the greatest of care, on our own farmlands. Wild Dagga happens to be one of the plants that is particularly suited to the growing conditions our farmlands have.
There are countless stories and reports about Wild Dagga, but the one thing to remember when reading these wildly varying reports is this: one must ALWAYS take into consideration the source of the plant material. As always, we offer a wide range of Wild Dagga products, not only to give our customers an idea of the range of products available, but to allow them to make their own choices when it comes to Wild Dagga.

This is hand-picked Siberian motherwort (Leonurus sibiricus), also known as marihuanilla (unfortunate common name). We've removed all the stems and ensured that only the most aromatic part of the plant is left for those working with this ancient herbal incense. This herb is smoked in various parts of Mexico, and Siberian motherwort is often used in herbal smoking blends as a main ingredient. Our Siberian motherwort is a high-altitude variety. Why is this relevant? Higher altitudes promote the production of a heartier plant. Click here for more info...

This dried Wild Dagga is wildcrafted and harvested sustainably. This is another product that we buy directly from the growers, who still work with this plant for themselves to this day. This unusually aromatic Leonotis leonurus (Lion's Tail) leaf is often preferred by our customers, and gets the most repeat customers; partially because we offer it at such a reduced price. We want to encourage as much sustainable harvesting of this particular Wild Dagga as we can, so offering it near-wholesale allows us to buy more from the growers. We supply Wild Dagga as a component for creating incense blends. Click here for more info...

Found only in a small section of South Africa as well as India, these flowers are part of our " Private Reserve" offerings that no other vendor offers. Find our WILD DAGGA LEAF, RESINS, & TINCTURES Category that explains the difference between the two main strains of Wild Dagga. This variety contains the large SEED PODS, which is what separates this stronger strain from the weaker Lion's Tail strain. Notice that the photos of each product are different, and there's a reason for this: Lion's Tail is weaker and less expensive (but still a very nice product). Many vendors we've found try to "pass off" that less expensive variety as "THE" infamous "Klip Dagga" variety.

This dried Leonotis nepetifolia Wild Dagga is grown on a small, private farm, without the use of pesticides of any kind. This is the much sought after "Klip Dagga" strain, reportedly the strongest of all the strains. Since we adore this plant so much here at the shop, we decided to do some independent testing on the different strains to see what we came up with. In terms of leonurine content, it was confirmed that Klip Dagga and Dagga Flowers do indeed have the highest concentration of that particular alkaloid. One thing to remember, though, is that just becuase there is a higher concentration of a single alkaloid in a plant, it doesn't mean that other strains which contain leonurine, such as Leonotus Leonurus, Motherwort, and Marihuanilla) are less effective; each herb has become reknown for its own unique effects, and Wild Dagga is no exception. This Klip Dagga is wonderful as a tea on its own, or as an enhancer for your favorite smoking herbs, maximixing their strength and effects, while using less of everything overall. The active component responsible for the pleasant effects of this plant is Leonurine, which has now been isolated and is being synthesized in a lab, but of course, it's less effective than the actual plant. South Africa made this plant famous, and use is reported among several indigenous tribes who used both the leaves and the flowers of this powerful spiritual ally. The flowers were often added to tobacco, but also act as powerful enhancer for many other herbs. The flowers are where the most concentrated active alkaloids are, and as you decide on your Wild Dagga purchase, know this: There are many who offer Wild Dagga Flowers, but it's important to know this that these particular flowers are from the LESS STRONG (and less expensive) variety called "Leonotus leonurus" and not the more portent strain known as "Leonotis nepetifolia." The stronger strain of Wild Dagga flowers is also called "Klip Dagga" (and this goes for the leaves as well). This is why we offer more than just one variety of plants; to educate you about what is real about and what is often misrepresented by many unscrupluous vendors on the internet. Find our WILD DAGGA LEAF, RESIN & TINCTURES article that explains the difference between the two main strains of Wild Dagga. This particular variety (Lion's Tail) DOES NOT HAVE SEED PODS because this Lion's Tail variety does not grow from seed pods. This produces a much larger amount of flowers, but as is to be expected, is less strong than the Klip Dagga Flowers that we also offer. Ours flowers are soft, orange flowers only, hand-picked, with no pods, and already less expensive than anywhere else we have found, but find out for yourself; do the research, find the truth, and decide for yourself!
